New Brunswick Alliance of Lake Associations 

The New Brunswick Alliance of Lake Associations (NBALA) was established in 2013 to support citizen based lake stewardship in New Brunswick. The organization consists of thirteen lake associations and many volunteer groups devoted primarily to the health of lakes. 

The New Brunswick Alliance of Lake Associations is committed to supporting healthy, sustainable lake ecosystems.

Our Mandate

  1. To facilitate and support a province-wide ‘Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program’

  2. To promote the formation of new lake associations and support the work of existing lake associations

  3. To improve lake education related to lake water quality, stewardship and lake management issues

  4. To facilitate and promote public awareness campaigns as they relate to invasive species, water quality and climate change through interactive, education workshops and outreach initiatives

  5. Continue to bolster relationships with other lake organizations, watershed groups and non-profits to build the capacity of collective action

  6. Coordinate strategic plans for effective political engagement and action to foster a healthy, rewarding relationship with government and ensure that the importance of New Brunswick lakes and water systems are supported
